Diana’s Faith Journey

Diana’s Faith Journey

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV).

Diana’s Faith Journey

I grew up in a home that believed in Jesus. We read the Bible every night. Yet, I knew I had to make my own decision about becoming a follower of Jesus. I could not depend on what my family believed.

Something was missing in my life that nothing seemed to satisfy. I asked God to forgive me for the wrong things I had done. I also asked God to forgive me for what I had not done that I should have. (Both are sin.)

I accepted the salvation Jesus provided by his death on the cross. I gave God control of my life.

Trusting Jesus does not mean I never have problems on my faith journey. It does mean God’s Spirit is with me through both the good and bad times. The Bible teaches that God will never leave us. God gives me love, joy, hope, and peace, regardless of my circumstances.

God’s Offer for Your Faith Journey

  • The one and only God, who created the world, loves you and wants to give you eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
  • We have all sinned (done wrong things). That sin separates us from God. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV).
  • Jesus lived a perfect life. He died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. “But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin” (1 John 3:5 NIV).
  •  After three days, Jesus rose from the dead. He defeated sin and death. “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 NIV).
  • If we turn away from sin and ask God to forgive us and take control of our lives, we receive eternal life. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NIV).
  • We do not work for God’s forgiveness of sins and eternal life. They are free gifts we must accept. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23 NIV).

Will you accept Jesus as your personal Savior?

You can pray right now and ask Jesus to forgive you and to take control of your life. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10 NIV).
